Service & Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

As a Service & Maintenance Engineer, you are responsible for the periodic maintenance, inspection, and servicing of NIJL’s installed docking systems and access platforms worldwide.

You will:

  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Replace components such as wheels, railings/gates, stair treads, and spare parts
  • Repair hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Adjust and maintain steel and aluminum structures
  • Execute inspections in accordance with NIJL maintenance manuals
  • Prepare quotations for inspections, spare parts, and modifications
  • Follow up with customers to secure approvals and execute projects

On average, you will travel internationally approximately twice per month, depending on project location.

This is a dynamic role combining technical expertise, customer engagement, and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

Develop & Expand Service & Maintenance Business

  • Deliver professional service activities aligned with company standards
  • Ensure full customer satisfaction
  • Identify new opportunities within the installed base

Conduct Inspections

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute annual inspection activities
  • Perform both reactive and proactive maintenance
  • Document required structural modifications

Prepare Quotations & Manage Spare Parts

  • Prepare accurate proposals for inspections, maintenance, and modifications
  • Ensure timely and competitive spare parts delivery
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing for major modifications

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, Installation Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
    • Mechanical assembly
    • Hydraulics & pneumatics
    • Electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Commercial awareness and ability to recognize sales opportunities
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Relevant site safety certifications
  • Valid driving license
  • Certification for working at heights

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in aviation or power & process industries
  • Basic knowledge of control systems or PLCs
  • Formal qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
