News NIJL Advances Delivery of Aircraft Docking and GSE Solutions for Air Arabia A320 Fleet in Sharjah, UAE

NIJL continues to make steady progress on the delivery of aircraft docking systems and ground support equipment solutions supporting Air Arabia’s Airbus A320 fleet at its facilities in Sharjah, UAE.

The project forms part of Air Arabia’s broader hangar and maintenance infrastructure development and includes the provision of multiple aircraft access and maintenance solutions designed to support safe and efficient fleet operations once the facility becomes fully operational.

Aircraft Docking Systems for A320 Maintenance Access

NIJL’s scope of work includes the manufacture and supply of:

  • Wing Docks
  • Tail Dock
  • Nose Dock

These docking structures are engineered to provide full access to critical maintenance zones on the A320 platform, supporting routine inspections as well as heavier maintenance tasks. The systems have been designed with modularity and adaptability in mind, allowing them to integrate with the evolving hangar environment and operational requirements.

Ground Support Equipment Covering PAX, Cargo, and Engine Access

In addition to the docking systems, NIJL is delivering a comprehensive range of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) tailored to the Airbus A320, including:

  • Passenger Access (PAX) platforms
  • Cargo access solutions
  • Engine access stands

Each unit has been developed to align with aircraft geometry, safety regulations, and operational efficiency, supporting both maintenance teams and ground operations.

Coordination Within a Wider Infrastructure Program

The delivery and installation of the docking systems and GSE are being carried out in coordination with the overall hangar development program. NIJL continues to work closely with Air Arabia and other stakeholders to align equipment readiness with facility completion and commissioning activities.

“This project reflects NIJL’s capability to support large, fleet-wide aviation programs through engineered access and support solutions,” Jonathan Attfield, Sales Manager commented. “Our focus remains on delivering robust, compliant equipment that will serve Air Arabia’s A320 fleet reliably over the long term.”

Strengthening Local MRO Capability in Sharjah

Once fully commissioned, the docking and GSE solutions will play a key role in enhancing Air Arabia’s maintenance and operational capabilities in Sharjah, supporting fleet availability and long-term operational efficiency.
