NIJL Welcomes Jorn van der Veen as Service & Maintenance Engineer

NIJL is pleased to announce the appointment of Jorn van der Veen as Service & Maintenance Engineer, further strengthening the company’s commitment to delivering responsive and expert support to customers across the aviation, rail, and industrial sectors.

Jorn joined NIJL on 1 June 2026 and will support customers with inspections, modifications, maintenance activities, technical support, and spare parts quotations across the NIJL product portfolio.

Bringing more than a decade of hands-on engineering and customer support experience, Jorn began his career as a mechanic, spending almost nine years developing a strong technical foundation. Keen to broaden his skillset, he moved into front-office roles, gaining experience in warranty administration and logistics before progressing into more customer-focused positions.

Most recently, Jorn spent four years as a Product Specialist and Sales Engineer within the loader crane industry, where he was responsible for technical support, warranty claims, spare parts sales, and the quotation of bespoke steel structures and bodies connecting cranes to vehicles. The role combined engineering expertise with customer interaction, providing him with valuable experience supporting customers and delivering technical solutions.

However, despite enjoying the customer-facing aspects of the role, Jorn missed the practical side of engineering and the opportunity to work directly in the field.

Commenting on his move to NIJL, Jorn said:

“Throughout my career, I’ve always enjoyed combining technical knowledge with customer support. What attracted me to NIJL was the opportunity to do both. I enjoy working with customers and solving problems, but I also wanted to get back into the field and be more hands-on. NIJL gives me the best of both worlds, and I’m excited to support our customers and become part of the team.”

As NIJL continues to expand its service capabilities, the addition of a dedicated Service & Maintenance Engineer reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their equipment.
